Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Front Runner Quick Release Rooftop Cargo Box Mounting Kit. So this kit is essentially going to allow you to use your rooftop cargo box with your Front Runner platform rack. This is going to work with the Slim Line Two and the Slim Sport platform racks from Front Runner. And essentially you are going to get these two brackets here that are going to simulate the crossbars that your cargo box was designed to work with. So, these will mount onto your cargo box.

They do include brackets to help you get them installed for certain cargo boxes and with some, you might have to remove the factory attachment hardware that was there to get this installed. But once you have these mounted in place and then we do have these bobber bolts, bobbin bolts that are going to be on the bottom of those bars. And that's what's going to give us our quick release capacity. So on your platform rack, you're gonna have these brackets with the latches that you'll install in the top channels and that's gonna give you the connection there. So, if I zoom in a little bit, you can see what I'm talking about a little bit better.

You can see these do have the notch in the top of them. So, you're just going to align that bobbin bolt there with that bracket, slide it into place, and it's got the latch on the side here that we will put back in place and then latch down. That's gonna give us a nice secure connection. So very quick and easy to get connected and just as quick and easy to unconnect or disconnect when we're ready to take the cargo box off. You can see that these latches do have a small hole in them on the top there.

That's going to allow you to pass through a small lock so that you can add a little bit of theft deterrent. We do have that sold separately here at etrailer.com. You can find it using that part number that you see on the screen there. So again, just a little extra security. Make sure that no one can come along and easily take off with your cargo box.

But they do include all the hardware that you're gonna need as well as instructions to walk you through that installation process, make sure that everything's installed properly. This is a really nice black powder coated steel, aluminum construction that's gonna resist corrosion and hold up really well for you. Only weighs about a little under 14 pounds so it won't add a whole lot of weight to your platform rack. So still have plenty of capacity for all your gear that you're wanting to take with you and that sort of thing. But overall, really simple way to make sure that you're still able to utilize that roof mounted cargo box with your new Front Runner platform rack. And that completes our look for today.
